Floral Painting workshop

How to paint flowers

“I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers”
Claude Monet

Have you ever tried to seize the ephemeral beauty of a flower? Have you ever managed to paint its colourful image? If so, your attempt is not only an aspect of your passion for Art but it can lead you to better express your creativity, improve your artistic skills and see the essence of things.

In our seminar you will start drawing various flower shapes with the help of pictures (which can be provided either by our teachers or by yourself).

You will then experiment the use of colours by using the media you want to focus on (for example pastels, watercolour, oil, acrylic). You will study the contrast of complementary colours. You will realise how important is the effect both of sunlight and artificial light on a flower. You will learn to add depth and volume to your subject by using different layers of colours.

Meanwhile you will also analyse some exemplary works by famous artists in order to understand the secrets of their techniques of flower composition. Last, but not least, you will work with real flowers and you will eventually depict them in their eternal beauty.

The course is open to everybody, and it is held either in English or in Italian by our qualified and experienced teachers.

This workshop is available every Monday all year round
