Cityscape and architecture

How to draw and paint an urban area

Cityscape and architecture

Representing the beauty of a city

This immersive 5-day workshop offers students a unique opportunity to master the art of sketching cityscapes, townscapes, and architectural elements completely freehand. By intentionally putting away rulers, grids, and measuring tools, you will learn to trust and develop your hand-eye coordination to capture the spirit and structure of urban environments.

What You Will Learn

Freehand Precision: Train your eye to intuitively calculate proportions, scale, and spatial relationships.
Perspective & Depth: Master the fundamentals of perspective sketching to realistically render complex streets, squares, and skylines.
Medium Flexibility: Work with your choice of media. Choose traditional graphite or charcoal to focus on line and form, or explore watercolors, acrylics, and oils to dive deep into color theory, light, and shading.

How the Workshop Works

All sessions take place in our dedicated Art Studio. Through structured exercises and direct observation of architectural references, images, and vistas, you will receive hands-on guidance to build your confidence and personal style. This course is ideal for artists, illustrators, and architecture students looking to sharpen their raw drafting skills.
