This course is designed to provide the student with an opportunity to gain or enhance abilities in drawing or sketching cityscapes and townscapes (or any architectural elements or skylines) without using measuring tools or guides to assist in the artwork. During this workshop students will develop their “free-hand” drawing skills by relying exclusively on their hand-eye coordination. They will learn to create an artistic representation of the physical aspects of a city or a town. Lessons will take place both in our Art studio and outside in the streets and squares of Florence, so that students can experiment with a hands-on approach of the subject through a direct observation of the buildings and monuments around them. Besides drawing with pencils or charcoals students can also opt for other media, such as watercolors, oil and acrylic colors. In this case their practice will focus especially on the use of colors and on the creation of shades. This course is ideal for those students who need to get trained with the freehand drawing as well as with the perspective sketching of squares and of streets.
