Learn to draw and sketch with vivid colours

This workshop aims at introducing students to drawing with oil and soft pastels. Students will learn through practical exercises multiple techniques of mark making providing them with an insight into the potentials of pastel sketching and drawing.

Participants will also be taught the main differences between soft and oil pastels. They will discover for example how, whilst soft pastels can produce smooth lines, oil pastels can create more vivid colours.

It is important to stress out that every student under the guidance of our Art instructors will start from observation in order to gradually create a nuanced pastel artwork.

Last but not least, participants will experiment with various colour blending methods as well as with using pastels together with other media, such as ink.

This workshop is open both to beginners as well as to more advanced art students who wish to to delve into this peculiar colour drawing technique.

Duration of the workshop: 5 days, Monday-Friday, 30 hours of tuition in total.

Classes are held either in Italian or in English.
