Experience Tuscany’s Art & Beauty: A Private Day Course

Embark on a truly special private full-day art course that takes you from Florence to one or more unforgettable Tuscan destinations. You’ll travel comfortably and have the unique opportunity to sketch the marvelous Tuscan countryside and towns, and paint breathtaking “scorci” (views) en plein air.

Your Destination Choices:

• Chianti area: explore this charming region between Florence and Siena by private car.
• Siena: discover the medieval city, accessible by bus.
• San Gimignano or Monteriggioni: journey to these historic gems by private car.
• Pisa: visit the iconic leaning tower, reachable by train.
• Volterra: explore this ancient Etruscan town by private car.
• Vinci or Certaldo: travel to these cultural sites by private car.
• Lucca: experience this captivating walled city, accessible by train.
• Montepulciano, Pienza, or Montalcino: immerse yourself in these renowned wine towns by private car.
• Arezzo: discover this artistic city, reachable by train.

A private car or public transportation will take you and your Art teacher to the place you have opted for: you will have the opportunity to draw in a relaxed atmosphere and to achieve some artworks that you will take home and maybe use to get inspired in the future.

Our experienced art teachers will guide you in developing your observation skills as you capture the beauty of a natural landscape, a charming townscape, a historic monument, or an ancient building. You’ll have the freedom to choose and practice one or more techniques that suit your skills and preferences, including charcoal, pastel, watercolor or acrylics.

Your Artistic Day in Tuscany

Here’s what your personalized full-day art experience entails:

• Morning Departure: We’ll pick you up from Florence between 9 AM and 10 AM.
• Art Immersion: Arrive at your chosen Tuscan destination and dive into sketching and painting en plein air.
• Light Lunch (not included): Enjoy a refreshing light lunch amidst your artistic endeavors.
• Afternoon Exploration: Continue with more sketching and visits to local sights.
• Return to Florence: We’ll have you back in Florence by 6 PM to 7 PM.

The total lesson duration is approximately 5 hours of focused art instruction.

What to Bring

We recommend wearing trekking or comfortable shoes and a wide-brimmed hat to ensure you’re comfortable throughout your day.

This course can be recommended both to Art novices and to experienced artists and professionals.

Please note

Our en plein air classes involve walking and climbing stairs to reach outdoor locations for drawing and painting stunning, iconic views. If you have mobility limitations, this class may not be suitable. We recommend contacting us to discuss alternative options. Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis for documented mobility issues that prevent participation.

Prices below are for one student and include transportation from Florence to your chosen destination:

Adjustments to Pricing:

Adding a Student: an additional fee of €120 applies for each extra student joining the lesson.

Self-Transportation Discount:

• If you arrange your own transport for train/bus destinations, deduct €50 from the listed price.
• If you arrange your own transport for private car destinations, deduct €100 from the listed price.

• Private classes are held both in English and in Italian.
• Upon request, private classes can be held also in Spanish, French or German.
• The program can be tailored to the student’s needs, skills and interests.
• Art material will be provided by the school, but students can also bring with them the material they normally use in their studios or in other academies.
• Upon signing up for Art classes each applicant is kindly requested to specify the technique(s) he or she wishes to study during his or her course.
